By using start.chat, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.
Your Account
- You must be 13+ to use the service
- Provide accurate account information
- Keep your credentials secure
- You’re responsible for activity under your account
- One person per account (no shared accounts)
Your Content
You own your content. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to:
- Store and display your content to intended recipients
- Create backups
- Modify format for compatibility (e.g., image compression)
This license ends when you delete content or your account, except where required for legal compliance or where others have copied/shared it.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Violate laws or regulations
- Harass, abuse, or threaten others
- Share illegal content or malware
- Spam or send unauthorized promotions
- Attempt unauthorized access to the service
- Impersonate others
- Interfere with the service’s operation
- Scrape or collect user data without consent
- Use the service for illegal gambling, fraud, or money laundering
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Server Ownership
- Server creators (“owners”) control their server’s rules and membership
- Owners are responsible for content in their servers
- We may intervene for legal violations or terms violations
Paid Services
- Some features require payment
- Prices are in USD unless stated otherwise
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
- Refunds are handled per our refund policy
- We may change prices with 30 days notice
Intellectual Property
- start.chat and its original content, features, and branding are our property
- You may not copy, modify, or distribute our software without permission
- Any separately published source code is governed by the license included with it
- Feedback you provide may be used without obligation to you

Third-Party Services
- The service may integrate with third-party services
- We’re not responsible for third-party content or practices
- Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms
API Usage
- API access is subject to rate limits and usage policies
- Don’t abuse the API or use it to harm the service
- We may revoke API access for violations
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DON’T GUARANTEE:
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Security against all threats
- That the service will meet your specific needs
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Damages exceeding amounts paid to us in the past 12 months
Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from:
- Your content
- Your violation of these terms
- Your violation of others’ rights
Termination
- You may delete your account anytime
- We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations
- Upon termination, your right to use the service ends
- Provisions that should survive termination will survive
Disputes
- These terms are governed by Delaware law
- Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
- You waive class action rights
- Small claims court remains available
Changes
We may modify these terms. Material changes will be communicated 30 days in advance. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
Severability
If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
